The Library

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Psalm 119:105 · KJV

The Library is the household’s scholar’s room — a place set aside for reading in silence, under a single candle, beside the King James Bible. The bookshelves were commissioned in the fifth generation from a Shaker joiner in a neighbouring settlement; the burgundy leather reading chair has been re-covered twice and cared for by every generation since.

This room does not hurry. It is here that the daily verse is chosen, the weekly essay is drafted, and the Sunday letter is corrected by hand. Books that arrive at CrossAIHub are read here first, aloud, before they are ever mentioned outside the house.

AI, when it is used at all, is used in the Workshop next door — never here. In the Library, only Scripture, hand-set type, and the voice of the reader.

“I want to learn. Under Scripture. Beside the KJV. With patience.”
