PRAY · BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

Chapel

“In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.” — Philippians 4:6 · KJV

Light a Candle Join the shared candle wall — light one for someone you carry in your heart, from anywhere.

This is the household’s room for prayer. Here you will find prayer guides, a prayer wall for requests, a candle to light, the household prayer book, and a quiet corner for adoration.

The Chapel is the household’s smallest, quietest room — one bench, one candle, one leaded-glass window that throws two beams (warm gold, warm blue) across the flagstone floor. It was consecrated in the third generation by prayer alone, never by a bishop, and has remained the family’s own chapel across every season.

There is no schedule here. The Chapel is open to the whole household at every hour, and to any guest who wishes to sit. The Prayer Wall is next door — the requests belong there. This room is only for adoration.

The candle is lit at first light and blown out at dusk. Nothing else changes.

“I find peace. I do not have to speak. The light is enough.”

A prompt for the household

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”

James 4:8 · KJV

Before you leave the Chapel today, sit for two full minutes without asking for anything. Not a request, not a phrase, not a thought about tomorrow. Only the candle, the window, and the presence of the Lord.

Family and community

The Chapel is not private. If a child asks you what a candle means, tell them the light is a small answer to the darkness. If a neighbour walks in with a burden, do not fill the silence — the Prayer Wall is next door, and the Prayer Book is above the bench. Sit beside them until they are ready.

Peace be to this house, and to all who dwell in it.
